Pipeline's Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple: we get to know each client's business. Evaluating executive-level talent requires that we thoroughly understand our client’s organizational structure and company culture needs as well as their current business needs. As the picture above may illustrate, it is important that all of a company's "oars are rowing in the same direction". It is with this in mind that we approach each search, to ensure the person you hire through our efforts will not only fit your needs from a background and skills perspective, but also fit within your existing team.
Search Methods
Pipeline does not depend on standard search methods that a company can utilize internally, such as job board postings and social media. Instead, we access our extensive network of potential candidates gained through years of experience. We constantly conduct new research that specifically targets the best individuals in their field. We have a strong belief that talented people recognize other talented people and the long-term relationships that our consultants foster result in many referrals from past and present clients and candidates. Everything we do is predicated on our ability to speak with people to build rapport, and to further gain an understanding of what is important to them.
Search Types
Contingency Based Search - Typically, our services are offered on a contingency basis. A fee is charged to the client company only if they hire a candidate who was located directly through Pipeline’s efforts and has been presented for consideration with their knowledge and permission. Many of our clients like this approach—their only commitment is the time required for candidate profile review and interviews. This is a very effective approach to filling many positions, as candidates are presented as they are identified, screened and evaluated, on a case by case basis.
Retained Search - The second and most effective way of finding talent is through a retained search. We prioritize your candidate search and dedicate a team specifically to your position(s). This allows us to reach out to every candidate we deem qualified and evaluate multiple people simultaneously. Upon completion of our search efforts, we present a pool of 3-5 candidates at the same time for evaluation and interview. We have found that after completing most retained searches, the final decision is difficult for our client. Based on the excellent skill levels presented, many clients chose to hire multiple candidates. The retained search requires a financial commitment before the search begins, with the remainder due upon hire of a candidate.
Best Available Athlete - Pipeline builds ongoing client relationships through an understanding of each client’s business and company culture. Many of our client companies recognize that finding the right talent is an ongoing process, and routinely ask us to keep our eyes open for high performers who could make a positive impact to their organization, even if there is no open position. We have helped launch several unplanned business units or new divisions for companies when one of these performers has become available. In most instances, these unplanned hires prove to be extremely rewarding for all parties involved.
